Roof Repair in Hebron for Leaks, Loose Shingles and Worn Flashing

Water spots overhead or shingle tabs blown onto the lawn usually point to one weak area, not a failed roof. We track down the part that gave out, show you photos, and repair it so it holds through wind, rain and winter freeze.

Repair or Replace: Getting the Answer Right

Roofs tend to give out at a few weak points long before the shingles wear out across the board. A cracked pipe boot. A nail that worked loose. Flashing pulled back from a chimney, or a valley worn thin. Catch those early and the rest of your roof keeps working for years.

We work on your home the way we would want a neighbor to work on ours. We climb up, look closely, and tell you straight whether a repair makes sense. If the shingles are brittle everywhere or the decking gives underfoot in several places, we will say so and talk through roof replacement. If a repair will hold, that is what we quote.

What Our Roof Repair Covers

  1. 01

    Leak tracing

Water rarely drips right below the opening. It runs along rafters and decking first. We follow it from the mark in your ceiling or attic back up the roof to where it really enters.

  2. 02

    Shingle replacement

We pull damaged or missing shingles, check the underlayment beneath, and nail new ones on the maker's nail line. Then we hunt down the nearest color and shape still being made.

  3. 03

    Flashing and vent pipe seals

Most leaks start where the roof meets something else: a chimney, a sidewall, a skylight or a vent pipe. We reseal or replace the metal there, and cracked rubber boots get swapped out, not buried under caulk.

  4. 04

    Rotted decking

When rot has set into the plywood around a leak, we remove that piece and fasten new sheathing in its place before shingles go back on. New shingles laid over rot just hide it.

  5. 05

    Ridge and vent repair

Wind lifts ridge caps and loosens roof vents. We reset or replace them so they shed water and keep your attic breathing.

Signs Your Roof Needs a Repair

  • Water spots overhead

Yellow or brown rings, or paint that blisters, tell you water has been coming through for some time. Look again after the next hard rain to see if they spread.

  • Shingles on the lawn

Finding tabs in the grass after a windy night means bare patches up top. Those let rain reach the underlayment fast.

  • Ice along the eaves

Thick ice at the roof edge after snow can push meltwater up under shingles. Freeze and thaw cycles through a Northern Kentucky winter turn small gaps into bigger ones.

  • Grit at the downspouts

The sandy top layer on a shingle is what shields it from the sun. When age or hail knocks it loose, it collects in the gutters and washes out at the downspouts. That tells you the surface is getting thin in places.

  • Damp or musty attic

Wet insulation, dark streaks on rafters or a stale smell point to a slow leak you may never see from the rooms below.

How a Repair Day Goes

  1. 1

    Free inspection

We get up on the roof and into the attic and photograph each problem spot. Then we sit down with you, show the pictures and explain in plain words what failed and why.

  2. 2

    Written estimate

We list the work line by line, so you know what is being fixed and what it costs before anyone starts. If we suspect rotted decking, we note how it would be handled.

  3. 3

    The repair

Most repairs take a few hours. We cover plants and protect the area under the work, then fix the problem from the deck up.

  4. 4

    Cleanup and walk-through

We haul away the torn-off shingles and roll a magnetic sweeper across the lawn and drive to catch loose nails. Before we leave, we go over the finished repair with you, photos from up top included.

What Moves the Price of a Roof Repair

We price a repair after we have been on the roof, never by guessing over the phone. How big the damaged area is matters, and so does the shape of whatever sits under it. After the free inspection you get a written number, and the choice is yours.

What is underneath
Swapping shingles is simple. Cutting out rotted decking or soaked underlayment adds material and time.
Steepness and stories
Steep pitches and second-story eaves call for extra safety gear and slower footing than a low single-story roof.
Where the damage sits
Leaks around chimneys, skylights and valleys take more care than a missing shingle out in the open field of the roof.
Matching materials
Older or discontinued shingles can be harder to match, which may mean a longer search or a small blended section.

Roof Repair Questions

Can you just patch one spot, or will I need a whole new roof?

Often one spot is all it needs. We look over the whole roof so we can tell you if the rest is still sound. If it is, we fix the problem area and stop there. If the shingles are worn out everywhere, we will tell you honestly that more patches will not save you money.

Will the new shingles blend in with my old ones?

Not perfectly on day one. We track down the nearest color and shape still sold today. Your existing shingles have been faded by years of sun, so the new ones may look a shade darker at first. In most cases the difference softens within a season or two.

Do I need to be home while you work?

Not always. We like to walk you through what we found before we start and what we did when we finish. If you can't be there, we can share photos and talk it over by phone.

How soon should I fix a small leak?

Sooner costs less. A slow leak soaks insulation and softens the decking, and winter freezing opens the gap wider. A small repair now can keep you from a bigger one in spring.

Will my insurance pay for a roof repair?

It depends on the cause and your policy. Sudden damage from wind or hail is often covered, while age and wear usually are not. We can give you photos and notes from the inspection to share with your insurer. If a storm caused it, our storm damage repair page explains how we help.
