ServicesRoof Replacement

Roof Replacement in Hebron, Built Like It's Going on Our Own House

We tear your old roof down to the wood, fix what's soft and build a new one with the right underlayment, flashing and vents. You get a clear plan before we start and a clean yard when we leave.

When a New Roof Is the Right Call

Most roofs don't fail all at once. Shingles lose their granules, seal strips let go and small leaks show up in more than one spot. At some point, fixing one area just moves the problem to the next. That's when replacing the roof costs less over time than chasing repairs.

We'll tell you straight if you're there yet. If a roof repair will buy you several good years, we'll say so. When the wear is everywhere and not just in one corner, you'll see it in the photos we take, and we'll walk you through why starting fresh is the better use of your money.

A worn roof that limps through one more winter of freeze and thaw often ends with wet insulation and stained ceilings. Replacing it on your schedule, before that happens, keeps the job simpler and the cost lower.

What Your New Roof Includes

Full tear-off

We strip the old shingles and underlayment down to the decking. Nailing new shingles on top of an old roof covers up rot and puts extra load on the framing, so every job we do starts from bare wood.

Decking check and repair

Once the wood is bare, we walk it and look for soft, rotted or delaminated boards. Bad sections get replaced before anything goes on top. We show you what we found and what it adds to the job before we do it.

Ice and water barrier plus underlayment

The lowest few feet of the roof and every valley get a sticky, self-sealing membrane. Those are the spots where ice backs up and runoff is heaviest. The rest of the deck is covered with synthetic underlayment.

New flashing

Chimneys, walls, skylights and pipe boots get new flashing. Old flashing reused under new shingles is one of the most common reasons a new roof leaks.

Ventilation

We check your intake and exhaust vents and balance them. A roof that breathes right keeps the attic cooler in summer and cuts down on winter frost and moisture.

Cleanup

Tarps over plants, a dumpster placed with care and a magnet sweep of the yard and driveway at the end.

Signs Your Roof May Need Replacing

Granules in the gutters
Piles of sandy grit in your gutters or at the downspouts mean the shingles are wearing thin. Without that coating, the sun breaks them down fast.
Curling or cracked shingles
Edges that lift or cup, or shingles with cracks across them, can't keep wind-driven rain out.
Leaks in more than one place
One leak is often a repair. Stains showing up in different rooms usually point to a roof that's worn out overall.
Sagging lines
If the ridge or the roof planes look wavy from the street, the decking or framing underneath may be taking on water.
Daylight in the attic
Light coming through the boards, or damp and dark spots on the wood, means water has a way in.
Patch after patch
If you've paid for several repairs in a few years, it's worth a free roof inspection to see if replacing it is the smarter move.

How a Roof Replacement Goes

  1. 1

    Inspection and estimate

We get on the roof and into the attic if we can. You get photos and a written estimate that lists materials, decking allowance and cleanup line by line.

  2. 2

    Picking materials and a date

We walk you through shingle options and colors in plain words. Then we set a start date and handle the permit if one is needed.

  3. 3

    Tear-off and dry-in

We only open up as much roof as we can seal again before the end of the day. Bare wood gets underlayment on it before we pack up, so your home isn't sitting exposed overnight.

  4. 4

    Shingles, flashing and vents

Shingles go on with the right nail count and placement. Flashing and vents go in as we work up the roof, not as an afterthought.

  5. 5

    Walk-through and cleanup

A magnet goes over the lawn and driveway to pick up stray nails, and any roofing scraps come out of the gutters. Then we go around the house with you and point out the new work, edge to ridge.

What Moves the Cost of a New Roof

Every roof prices out differently, so we don't quote from a chart. We measure your roof, look at the decking and talk about what you want. Your written estimate shows where the money goes.

Size and pitch
Square footage sets how much material we order and how many days the crew spends up top. Steep slopes slow the work down and call for harnesses and roof jacks.
Layers to remove
Some houses have an older roof still sitting under the current one. Pulling off two layers means twice the tear-off and a heavier load to haul away.
Decking condition
Soft or rotted boards have to be replaced. We can't know the full amount until the old roof is off, so we explain how that's handled before we start.
Shingle choice
Standard architectural shingles, heavier designer lines and impact-rated shingles all carry different price tags and lifespans.
Roof details
Chimneys, skylights, valleys and dormers each need flashing and careful cutting, which adds time.

Roof Replacement Questions

How long does a roof replacement take?
Most houses take one to two days of work on the roof. Bigger or steeper roofs, or a lot of rotted decking, can add time. Weather can push the start date, and we'll let you know if it does.
Does someone have to stay at the house during the job?
Not the whole time. We like to meet you the first morning to go over the plan, and we'd like to look over the finished roof together at the end. In between, all we need is a clear driveway and access to an outdoor outlet.
Can you just put new shingles over my old ones?
We don't. A layover hides soft decking and bad flashing, traps heat and adds weight. Tearing off lets us fix what's underneath so the new roof lasts.
Will my insurance pay for a new roof?
If hail or wind damaged it, it might. Normal wear and age usually aren't covered. We can document the damage with photos and explain the process, and our storm damage repair page covers it in more detail.
What season is best for replacing a roof?
Spring through fall is easiest, since shingles seal best in mild weather. We can work in cooler months with the right care, but we'll be honest if waiting a few weeks is better for your roof.
Should I replace my gutters at the same time?
If they're sagging, leaking or pulling away, it makes sense to do them together. We handle gutters too and can look at them during your inspection.
